4 Things.
I had a good run for a few weeks, but last week, fell off the wagon. I had been on vacation (a blog post on that needs to happen!) and then my mom came to visit, all of the travel, packing, unpacking and followed by cleaning and more cleaning (not to mention that pesky full time job I have), left this little blog neglected. I recently told someone that I had a blog and they told me that they always thought having a blog seems like a good idea, but that it seemed like a lot of work. While it can be some work, it is something that I really do enjoy. It allows me to do something that I love and at one time thought that I would do for a career: write. Like I told her, it's like having my very own little magazine where I can control all of the content. Doesn't that make you want to run out and start your own blog, too?
We are now almost a full week into fall, although here in the Mid-Atlantic states, the weather is still pretty warm. Highs in the lows 80s, lows in the 50s and 60s. You still don't really need a jacket, but you also aren't going to suffer from heat stroke. My favorite type of weather!
With that in mind, here are 4 Things to try this fall season. Enjoy!

4 Things.
This week's pictures come from the American Visionary Art Museum. It's within walking distance and I should really go there more often! Here's a look at a few of the installations outside the museum. The mosaics are made primarily out of mirrors which make them especially sparkly!
They had a flea market this weekend and I picked up a couple of things. This adorable dog picture and a fashion sketch. I'm really out of wall space in my current dwelling, but these two pieces were too special to pass up. Grand total for both? $5.
Do: With the new fall season upon us, shouldn't you clean out that closet? I've been deep into this. I'll be honest, it feels great to have less stuff! Easier to find things, easier to get dressed every morning. Here are some great tips.
Make: Have some empty wall space that needs to be filled? How about making your own? Here's a ikat print idea from Lowe's (of all places). Pretty, no? And easy to customize to your decor colors.
Learn: Are you interested in starting a blog? I highly recommend it. It's really fun and I highly envy those people who write blogs full time. At any rate, here's a really good article about starting your own blog. Really good tips.
Eat: With the change of seasons, I'm craving meals that are hearty. I can't wait to make this healthy and easy one dish dinner.

Cuppa Kim Mug Swap
I can't even remember where I heard about the Cuppa Kim Mug Swap. I obviously read about it on a blog, but can't remember which one. The rules were simple. You send Cuppa Kim your contact information then she sends with someone who sends you a mug and vice versa. You send a mug and get a mug. Why participate? Well, it's always nice to get GOOD mail once in a while! I received this beautiful mug and some vanilla black tea! So exciting to get a present in the mail. I drink tea only in cool weather, so I will be enjoying this in the very near future.
You can read about the mug I sent, here.

4 Things.
This short week has really tripped me up. I clearly didn't realize that today was going to be Friday. It completely slipped my mind to write a blog post! But then, when I woke up this morning, I was convinced that it was Saturday. Ummm....no.
Has anyone else noticed the signs of Autumn popping up? I haven't seen any leaves turning yet, but I did spot these pumpkins in front of the grocery store.
While you could just pick up your fall pumpkin at the grocery store, wouldn't it be more fun to get one at an actual farm? Check out where you can pick your own (PYO, they call it) here. My favorite place that's close to Baltimore is Huber's Farm.
Sticking with the fall theme, doesn't the cooler weather just make you want to cuddle on the couch with your favorite blankie? Perhaps you'd like to make your own?
I love a good collaboration. So, I was so excited to see this Method pair up with Orla Kiely to come up with this! I bought some this week at Target. Beautiful and useful. (And a safe cleaning product for those of us are trying to keep toxic chemicals out of our homes.)
Finally, it can be difficult to find really great craft products when our only options are Joann's and Michael's. Don't get me wrong, those places can have really useful products, but sometimes you want something a little more unique. Might I recommend a couple of really good flash sale sites specifically for crafting? Pick Your Plum and The Plaid Barn. You have to sign up for both of these (both are free) and they email you the deal each day. They only sell one item every day, only available until it sells out. The items are very affordable!
Wishing you a great weekend!!
